Your agent gets a real US phone number when you create it. Customers text that number — the agent texts back. It works on every phone, every carrier.
How it works
Inbound: When a customer texts your agent's number, the agent reads the message and replies. It remembers the conversation thread.
Outbound: The agent can initiate texts too — follow-ups, reminders, confirmations. Controlled by your autonomy settings.
iMessage: When a customer texts from an iPhone, the agent can send and receive iMessage. Typing indicators and read receipts are included.
Cross-channel memory: If someone has already emailed your agent, it recognizes them when they text. The agent picks up where the last conversation left off.
Your agent's number
The number is assigned automatically when you create the agent. It's a US number. Customers in other countries can still text it — standard international rates apply on their end.
You cannot port your own existing number at this time.
